Mother Earth

The movie takes up what is a very current question right now; the climate changes. I think that the movie was great. It gave me a lot of new facts which I haven’t heard of before, and they’re astonishing.
All that ice melting and the sea-level rising is terrifying. The pictures illustrates very well how the temperature changes have affected the ice-melting. You can actually see how things change here home to. If you just look up at the right of “Dronninga” from Viklandet you will see a tiny glacier who is about to disappear. Under you see a picture from Greenland.

I think that the Norwegian people will have to cut down their CO2 discharges to zero. I know that it’s seems impossible, but one time in the future we’ll have to do so. I think we should start to think about what we should do and do it, instead of just sit calm and talk.
We will have to start with the energysources which release CO2 to the atmosphere. The Norwegian people should put a lot of money into developing new technology for renewable energy sources such as water power, etc. So when the oil in the north sea is no longer there we’ll have other energysources to resort to.
The oil is of course Norway’s most lucrative source of money, but the oil pollutes indeed very much. The problem for all of the countries around the world is not stop the global climate changes, but the money.
If Norway manage to cut their discharges greatly, it will merely have an effect in global context. I’ve once heard that Norway only stand for about 0,4 per thousandth of the total discharges worldwide. So it will only help a little if we cut our discharges.

On the other hand, USA, China and others have a lot to do with this. All their use of coal, gas, oil and nuclear power to produce electrisity affects the whole world very much. It’s a struggle about having the most power, and money. In China it’s so bad that it on average is constructed one coal-powerplant each day.

We can’t do anything with the climate changes in a large scale before they realize that the climate is changing. The biggest threat to the mankind is not war but the global climate changes.
If the countries come to one’s sense they will gradually have to stop their CO2 discharges and start to think new. Which means new electric means of transport, alternative energysources, etc. To say it shortly, adapt everything to go on electricity.

I think that global warming is very close to the truth of what is happening now. You can just see that ice are melting on the poles and heatwaves and forestfires such as that one in California occur more often. Aspects like these contributes to drive animal species to extinction. To define what cause global warming more correctly to you, you can look at the quote below:

“Carbon dioxide and other gases warm the surface of the planet naturally by trapping solar heat in the atmosphere. This is a good thing because it keeps our planet habitable. However, by burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil and clearing forests we have dramatically increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere and temperatures are rising. ”
Under you see a picture which explains the greenhouse-effect, which will increase if we release more CO2:
